WHY IS THE WORLD CHANGING?

In the Flying Star School of Feng Shui (San Yuan) each time period lasts for 20 years, and as there are 9 periods, a complete cycle takes 180 years. Period 8 started on February 4th 2004. The number 8 in Chinese numerology is the luckiest of the nine numbers, so those who make a special effort to tap into its potency will attract good fortune!

The Period 7 began on the 4th February 1984 and came to an end on the 4th February 2004. This was a period when the West direction represented the Òdirect spiritÓ and yin metal was very important. We experienced this in the massive development and expansion of technology, power and communication, incidentally in California. The ÒWealth StarÓ reigned and many people in the West experienced wealth creation and the standard of living was elevated for the majority. This was also a period when women enjoyed success and recognition and this is because the Period 7 is represented by the trigram Tui, which is a female trigram and it also represents the mouth. The mobile telephone was launched and people have never communicated more easily. They were able to have their say with blogs and contact friend and family with Skype. Many people travelled extensively and they ate out in restaurants and the fast food industry expanded exponentially. Transport became affordable for everyone in the West with many families owning more than one car or scooter.

The Period 8 will see young men dominating the worldÕs political, economic and business stage. This is because the number 8 is symbolised by the trigram Ken, which represents the young man. Countries that lie to the Northeast of any land mass, like China, will become very important. The ÒMountain StarÓ will reign and this means that health and relationships will exert far greater influences than money and wealth creation. We have already experienced this with the popularity of spas, aromatherapy, massage, yoga and complimentary medicine. Ken both rules and stands for the mountain, which suggests quiet strength and hidden treasures. This trigram is associated with keeping still, (less travelling!) death and life, dying and resurrection, it is a time of solitude and keeping still usually prevents expansion. Knowledge and education are also associated with this trigram as are obstacles and blockages. The global stock markets have certainly experienced both obstacles and blockages in the recent year. The price of crude oil has had a significant effect on travelling and now the bicycle has been resurrected in many countries.

As Ken represents the earth element, a light yellow colour is considered very auspicious, yellow citrine crystals, yellow amber or jasper should be considered when wearing jewellery. Decorative items made from clay, ceramic and stones are ideal for the home or office.

Finally the Northeast direction is very auspicious in the Period 8, so you may consider using this direction more often if it happens to be one of your Feng Shui directions.

CHINESE ASTROLOGY

ÒMen at some times are masters of their fateÓ
-William Shakespeare

A personÕs capacity in life is called Destiny in Chinese Metaphysics. Everyone is born with a life path which governs their potential, outcome and achievements in life. When an individualÕs capacity is properly analysed and understood, then it is possible to assist this person. The study of Destiny is about knowing what is within your control and ability, and what is not.

Chinese Astrology has 4 types of applications.

á Personal Analysis Ð Discovering a personÕs character, nature, behaviour and potential.
á Destiny Analysis Ð Investigating the life path or destiny of a person.

a. Static Chart Ð Investigating the potential of wealth, relationships, career and health
b. Dynamic Chart Ð Exploring the future through 10 year cycles, annual and monthly cycles

Destiny cannot change, but fortune can and the term fortune is synonymous with the term luck. Fortunes, or luck cycles refer to the quality of roads in the map of life.

A literal translation of the words BaZi means Eight Characters. In the West, BaZi is sometimes known as Four Pillars of Destiny. This is a classical study, with texts that go as far back as the Tang Dynasty.

The Eight Characters are made up of Yin and Yang variations of the Five elements (Wood, Water, Metal, Fire and Earth). By analysing the structure of a personÕs BaZi (which reveals compatibility, clashes, combinations and the interplay between the Eight Characters) we can determine a personÕs character, nature and life path. By decoding a personÕs BaZi, we can unveil his or her Destiny Code.

ÒThe sky has its randomness in terms of weather, and a personÕs life has its fluctuation in terms of fortune.Ó
